The material effect
Coloured shadows.

Ambient light enters the front of the acrylic, bends through the coloured surface and lands on the wall behind as a soft coloured halo. Held 16 mm off the wall, the piece floats — and the halo has room to fall. It looks different in morning light, in afternoon sun and under an evening lamp. You never quite get used to it.
When direct sunlight hits the acrylic, it throws coloured halos onto the wall behind. The piece becomes a light source. The room becomes part of the work.

Every piece comes in the same three formats, and every format throws the same light — the larger one simply throws more of it. Above a sofa or a sideboard, 57x80 cm is the size most people end up with.

5 mm of translucent acrylic glass, held 16 mm off the wall on aluminium standoffs. That gap is where the coloured shadow gets its room. The standoffs clamp the panel at its edge — nothing is drilled through the piece itself.
